The Resilience Challenge (STU00222090) Principal Investigator: Dr. Judith Moskowitz, PhD, MPH Department of Medical Social Sciences, Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine Research team: ResilienceChallenge@northwestern.edu

Many people experience stress in their day to day lives. Research shows that increasing one’s levels of positive emotion can lower stress and increase the ability to cope with existing stress. We are interested in the effects of applying these techniques with a broad audience across the United States.

Who is eligible to participate in this research study?

If you are over 18, living in the United States, and have access to a reliable internet connection, you may be eligible.

What does the Resilience Challenge involve?

The Resilience Challenge is a clinical research study. Participating in the Resilience Challenge involves taking part in an online, self-guided, positive emotions research program. Over the course of 5 weeks you will: be taught 8 skills, complete nightly home practice, and fill out brief daily surveys. The 6th week of the challenge will be practice and review.

Before you begin the challenge, you will be sent questions about your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. After the challenge is over, you will again be sent similar questions. These questions help us learn how the program works for people who take part in it. If you choose to fill out these questions, you will get an automatic report about your answers after you complete the questions. Full study participation will take up to 12 weeks.
